My name is Andrew Turner and you can count me among the people who despise performing tedious and menial tasks. You’ll instead find me trying to spend my time trying to find ways to make those tasks easier through automation, something I’ve been trying to do with various tasks and processes since I joined the IT industry in 2016.
Prior to joining the automation world as a full-time job, I have held several other roles including network engineer and network architect. The networking experience I gained in those roles include network design, wireless networking, and layer 2 technologies. I now work as a Network Automation Engineer and loving it.
My current certifications include the Cisco CCNA, Cisco Certified DevNet Associate, and CompTIA Security+. My goals for the next year are to finish the DevNet Professional and CCNP Enterprise. Once those are completed I’ll start looking at the Expert level certifications.
I also hold two degrees: A Bachelor of Science in Journalism and an Associate of Science in Software Development. I married my wife Trina in 2014 and we have a full house with two dogs and two cats.
Why start a blog?
Creating a blog is something I’ve wanted to do for several years. Doing so gives me the opportunity to dig deeper into my profession while also helping others learn. In fact, that’s right in my mission statement:
The mission of Tekyy is to build connections with current and aspiring IT professionals while helping them to grow professionally by providing quality content and tools in the areas of networking and network automation.
So regardless of where you are in your own career, be sure to follow me on social media and sign up for email notifications to get the latest updates from Tekyy.
